Long Arm Quilting Services
We will start accepting your projects to quilt for you on July 1, 2025.
The details:
How much will it cost? 2 cents per square inch. Measure the length and width of your quilt top. Length times Width times 0.02 = how much
Do you offer trimming services? Yes, after quilting we will trim your quilt up with the edge of the top so that it's ready for binding when you get home. We are charging $5 if the perimeter of your quilt is 100 inches or less, $10 if the perimeter is more than 100 inches.
Do you offer binding services? Yes, we will completely finish your quilt for you if you need us to do so. We are charging $.20 per inch to sew the binding to the quilt top (usually the front side) by machine. Then it's another $.20 per inch to sew the binding to the other side (usually the back side) by hand or machine.
What do you need to bring with you? You need to bring the completed quilt top, the backing fabric which needs to be 10" larger in both directions than the quilt top. You will purchase batting here at the shop. We know how to work with the battings we sell and don't want to risk trying out an unknown product on your quilt. DO NOT BASTE THE LAYERS TOGETHER YOURSELF. We will charge you extra to unbaste the project as each layer is loaded onto the frame separately.
How long will it take to get your quilt back? Honestly, there are too many factors to consider to be able to give you an answer here. When you drop your quilt off we can give you an idea of how long it will take. We are striving to quilt at least one customer quilt per day we are open.
We do offer rush jobs in a pinch but we charge overtime for that. The charge will be 3 cents per square inch instead of 2 as standard overtime is time and a half. Rush jobs are run after hours so as not to push back any projects that are in front of the rush project. We can only offer this if a staff member is available to do your project after hours.
Be sure to press your top and backing fabric nicely before bringing them to the shop. Your project will be quilted in the condition it is dropped off in. Our quilting job is only as good as your piecing and pressing job. "It will quilt out" is a myth!
Plan on at least 15 minutes when bringing a project to us to quilt for you. We will need to measure your quilt top and backing. If you want to pick the thread color and quilting design then we'll need to do that too.
